The cities of Helsinki and Espoo asked for a timber structured parking garage concept that could be extended and removed & rebuilt. The structure needed to be competitive in its cost with standard parking structures. The project a real site in both cities where the concept was fitted to test it with real life locations.

Basic elements of the concept: continuing ramp, two versions of the corner piece for site variations

The structure is optimized to bare minimum pieces with maximum modular repetition

The angled corner piece includes the lifts and staircases

The round corner piece is optimized to provide maximum parking space

The building is one continuous ramp with a possibility for adding floors

The facades are built of individual wooden boards that shelter the space from the elements and allow free flow of air
